Startup Atlanta Celebrates Winners at Annual Startup Awards

Startup Atlanta, the premier advocate for Atlanta’s vibrant startup ecosystem, recognized the city’s most successful startup entrepreneurs and leaders Thursday night at its third annual Atlanta Startup Awards.
The event took place on the historic campus of Clark Atlanta University in front of an audience of more than 100 startup leaders from around the Metro Atlanta region. Award-winning journalist Rose Scott, host of “Closer Look” on Atlanta’s NPR station 90.1 FM – WABE, served as Master of Ceremonies.
This year’s award winners were selected in eight (8) categories:
· Scrappiest Startup:
The Lola- a Members Club, Workspace and Community designed for Women by Women.
· Community Builder:
Holly Beilin- Director. Engage Ventures
· B2C Startup:
Steady- App that allows people to find jobs fast, seek financial advice and save money with deals on everything from healthcare plans to tax help.
· Social Impact Startup:
Secure Data Kit- works with leading health organizations around the globe with data collection and analysis.
· B2B Startup:
RoadSync- a digital payment platform for the transportation industry that streamlines the payment experience for warehouses, and freight handlers.
· Art of Pivot:
Carbice- a nano-materials company that manufactures and sells a new form of carbon that improves performance across a variety of applications.
· Growth Stage:
LeaseQuery - an enterprise lease accounting software that simplifies accounting for leases and enables organizations to easily comply with the new standards and regulations.
· Equity Champion:
Monica McCoy- Founder, MonicaMotivates, LLC
This year’s event also presented its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to Bernie Dixon, Founder/CEO, Launchpad2X and Chairman Emeritus, Atlanta Technology Angels (ATA); as well as long-time investor Charlie Paparelli, Founder/President, Paparelli Ventures.
