The Southeast Region of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) will honor Morris, Manning & Martin Partner Daniel Huynh at its 23rd Annual Jurisprudence Luncheon March 16 in Atlanta. The ADL will present Huynh with the 2020 Emerging Leader Award.

“Dan’s advocacy efforts on behalf of immigrants across a broad range of humanitarian and legal issues inspire other lawyers to make a difference,” noted ADL Board Chair Bernard Taylor. “For this and other pro bono work, Dan is deserving of the ADL’s Emerging Leader Award.”

At the same event, Congressman John Lewis – often called one of the most courageous people the Civil Rights Movement ever produced – will receive the 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award. Former American Bar Association President Linda Klein will receive the 2020 Elbert P. Tuttle Jurisprudence Award. ADL describes Klein as a fierce advocate for justice and civic engagement.

“We are extremely impressed that Dan is being honored alongside two national heroes,” said MMM Managing Partner Simon Malko. “We were already proud of him for his pro bono and community work – and for recently taking the helm of MMM’s Diversity Initiative.”

Huynh says he is deeply honored – both to be recognized and to share the stage with luminaries such as Congressman John Lewis and Linda Klein. “I’ve long admired Congressman Lewis’s courage and steadfast commitment to fairness and equality,” Huynh said. “Those are the same core values that Ms. Klein has championed throughout her illustrious legal career. ADL’s message of anti-hate and inclusion resonates with the values I try to uphold in my personal and professional life.”

Huynh, a partner in MMM’s Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation group, concentrates his practice on intellectual property and commercial matters, including patent, trademark and other IP disputes. He represents companies of all sizes in various technology sectors including wireless telecommunications, e-commerce and financial payment systems. He also dedicated countless hours to community and pro bono efforts.

“To me, the Emerging Leader Award is more appropriately a recognition of organizations, including Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Tapestri, Freedom University, Clarkston Film, and the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association, that have allowed me to assist in their respective missions,” Huynh concluded.

Each year, ADL’s Jurisprudence Luncheon pays tribute to lawyers who have dedicated themselves to securing justice and fair treatment for all people throughout their careers.
