Earlier this month at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Ailey performed Jamar Roberts’ Ode to those impacted by gun violence and celebrated choreographer Donald Byrd’s Greenwood, which draws on the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre as a source.  The Washington Post  raved “Ode feels like another revelation for Ailey” and "Ailey is doing what few major dance organizations do: It is keeping pace with the times, and the conversation."   With these special events at the Marquee Club, Atlantans are invited to join in the conversation.
