Peter Vossenberg, Chef de Cuisine at The Pinnacle Club in Downtown Augusta, was honored Wednesday night as one of six chefs in the state to be named a 2020 Georgia Grown Executive Chef by the Georgia Restaurant Association.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by this program,” said Vossenberg. “Here in Georgia we have such high quality local products available. This means we, as chefs, have a broad range of menu options to express our creativity and share the amazing bounty of this state.”

The program is an initiative designed to foster relationships between chefs and farmers while promoting locally sourced and grown products in Georgia’s growing culinary culture.

“The farm-to-table movement in Georgia provides diners with so many great options,” noted Tripp Harrison, senior vice president for Edgar’s Hospitality Group and Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA, which is the parent organization of The Pinnacle Club. “Seasonal, fresh and locally-sourced menus are ever-evolving, and the barre is continually set higher as talented chefs like Peter make the most of what Georgia has to offer.”

In addition to Chef Vossenberg, the list of 2020 award winners included Jamie Adams of il Gallo Osteria & Bar in Sandy Springs, Alex Friedman of Bistro off Broad in Winder, Tim Magee of White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails in Atlanta, Jessica Rothacker of Heirloom in Athens and Maricela Vega of 8Arm in Atlanta. The group was honored at the GRA’s Taste of Georgia legislative reception at the Georgia Railroad Freight Depot in Atlanta.
