The effects of COVID-19 on the world have been staggering, and the creative community has been hit particularly hard. We stand with creatives, freelance art support staff, and everyone else who has been negatively impacted by the present crisis.

As the dust settles on the recent scuffle to help contain the spread of coronavirus, we have extended the deadline for our Art on the Atlanta BeltLine (AoAB) 2020-2021 Exhibition Open Call. The Open Call includes:

Artists and Art professionals

Sculpture professionals

Exhibition support positions (Foreman, Conservator, Documentation- Photography and Videography, and a Family Paint Day Facilitator)

Our 2020-2021 Residency Program (Artist-in-Residence, Scholar-in-Residence, Curator-in-Residence)

Info Sessions

In accordance with CDC recommendations, we have cancelled our AoAB Info Sessions for the month of March. The Arts & Culture Department is working out how to host an online livestream on Facebook and other platforms, and we hope to roll this out soon. This will be a great opportunity to tune in, get information about the 2020-2021 program, and ask any questions you may have about how to apply.

We remain hopeful that future Info Sessions will be able to take place as scheduled, so please tune in to our Open Call page for the latest information.

Extended Deadline for AoAB Jury and BPAAC Volunteers

The Arts & Culture Department is still seeking volunteers for two advisory bodies: the Art on the Atlanta BeltLine jury for the 2020-2021 temporary exhibition and the BeltLine Public Art Advisory Council (BPAAC).

The jury panel is tasked with selecting projects each year for the temporary exhibition that bring richness and diversity to the Atlanta arts scene. Selected from a pool of qualified applicants, jurors will serve three full days in May.  They will collectively evaluate every complete artistic proposal. Jurors are compensated for their time.

The BPAAC meets quarterly to review ABI’s public art projects and programs, including selected artists for the annual Art on the Atlanta BeltLine exhibition, external exhibition proposals, and creative partnerships. The council also provides advice and recommendations to ABI’s Arts & Culture Department.

Applicants are selected based on arts and culture experience and background and are required to live in a neighborhood adjacent to the Atlanta BeltLine. Selected participants serve a two-year term.
