Ed Emerson, chair of Morris, Manning & Martin’s Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Practice, has earned the top regional ranking from Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business 2020. The practice group itself and one of its members earned recognition as well.
Emerson is ranked in the top tier of the brand new category – Band 1 in Georgia. The Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation group, which also includes partner Scott Wagner and associates Ryan Gorman and Aaron Moody, ranks in Band 2 overall. Gorman was recognized as one of the “Associates to Watch” in the area.
Chambers USA, which describes itself as the world’s leading provider of legal research and analysis, ranks attorneys and practice groups based on several key factors. They include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment and other qualities most valued by clients. The Chambers judges add that being ranked in any band is a significant achievement.
“This is the first year that Chambers has ranked Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation groups in Georgia,” Emerson said. “It is particularly gratifying for our team to do so well in this inaugural year.”
The Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation group partners with clients to meet complex challenges by providing traditional legal services as well as innovative and practical solutions. The team provides businesses with practical, results-oriented, responsive and proactive solutions. The group’s many areas of focus include ERISA, qualified retirement plans, executive and equity compensation, fiduciary compliance, governmental plans, health and welfare benefits, management representation and transactional support.
“It’s great to see excellent work rewarded,” said MMM Managing Partner Simon Malko. “The Employee Benefits group is extremely deserving of this recognition.”
