Monday, October 20th, 2025
Atlantic Station announced today that local artists Artsy Elaine and Sway Jones of Sway Art have been named its Artists-in-Residence bringing fresh energy, bold perspectives, and a dynamic creative spirit to the heart of the community. The pair will debut Art Station ATL – a vibrant artist studio and gallery located in a 1,541-square-foot space on Atlantic Drive – with the first Open Studios event set for Saturday, Oct. 25, coinciding with Atlantic Station’s highly anticipated 20th anniversary celebration.
Rooted in Atlantic Station’s commitment to connect the community through art, Art Station ATL invites guests to interact with the artists and get a behind-the-scenes look as they bring inspiring new installations to life. Known for their signature pops of color and uplifting energy, Artsy Elaine and Sway will also enhance the Atlantic Station property with fresh public art throughout their residency, giving guests new works to discover with every visit.
“Art Station ATL isn’t just a place to view art – it’s a place to feel it,” said Giovanni Silva, General Property Manager at Atlantic Station. “We’re proud to welcome Artsy Elaine and Sway, whose creativity reflect Atlantic Station’s vision to inspire and connect the community through Atlanta’s artistic spirit.”
Artsy Elaine’s work is already visible at Atlantic Station, from eight flower carts and two large-scale wall murals to the colorful parking garage entrance off State Street. Now, alongside Sway, she will expand that creative footprint even further. “Partnering with Sway allows us to merge our ideas and creative drive into events and art offerings that are fresh and distinctive,” said Elaine. “My hope is that people will feel a surprise moment of joy when they encounter our work – something cheery and positive that brightens someone’s day.”
For Sway, the residency represents both an honor and an opportunity to make a lasting impact. “Atlantic Station is such a landmark in Atlanta, and having the opportunity to make a creative impact here is an honor,” she said. “What excites me most is collaborating with Elaine to bring impactful art experiences and installations that will add even more color and energy to the community. My goal is for people to feel affirmed, represented and connected when they encounter our work – like they’re part of something bigger.”
Both artists bring an impressive track record to the residency. Artsy Elaine has painted more than 50 murals across Georgia, including large-scale installations at Atlantic Station, public parks and university campuses. Sway’s community-rooted work includes murals at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and partnerships with the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United FC, along with the launch of Sway Acrylics, her signature paint line now carried at the High Museum and Brown Toy Box.
The public is invited to meet the artists and Art Station ATL firsthand during the inaugural Open Studios on Saturday, Oct. 25 from noon-4 p.m. at 1380 Atlantic Drive, Suite 14100.

Cheers to 20 years! Since opening on Oct. 21, 2005, Atlantic Station has transformed from a steel mill to a thriving hub of culture, commerce and community that defines the Heart of ATL. The celebration will continue throughout the year, with an eye on the future, as the destination builds on its legacy and continues to shape Atlanta’s identity.
