Big Green Egg to Celebrate the Joy of Live Fire Cooking at Annual EGGtoberfest on October 4th

Staff Report From Georgia CEO

Wednesday, October 1st, 2025

This fall, Big Green Egg will be celebrating its annual EGGtoberfest event on Saturday, October 4th. It's more than a festival; it's what happens when you combine passion and community. 200 Egghead cooks from around the country come together to provide live-fire bites, all created on the Big Green Egg.

EGGtoberfest 2025 is proudly benefiting the Atlanta Community Food Bank, with net proceeds being donated to this organization whose mission is to fight hunger by engaging, educating, and empowering the community. The Food Bank works with more than 700 community-based nonprofit partners to distribute 10 million meals across metro Atlanta and north Georgia each month.

"EGGtoberfest is a celebration of community, connection, and neighbors cooking for neighbors," said Big Green Egg CEO Dan Gertsacov. "Partnering with the Atlanta Community Food Bank this year makes it even more powerful—uniting us over a shared belief in the power of food to bring people together."

Everyone is welcome to join this family-friendly food festival - cook teams include home cooks, pitmasters, Michelin-starred chefs, and junior cooks, all showcasing their grilling skills, recipes, tips, and techniques.

This culinary showcase runs from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, GA (2500 Buford Dr, Lawrenceville, GA 30043). EGGtoberfest also provides a rare opportunity for guests to purchase one of the event Eggs, used once, at an exclusive discounted price.

Guests coming to EGGtoberfest should:

EGGtoberfest is an opportunity to bring people together in the spirit of community togetherness and looking out neighbors. Due to rising prices on everything from household goods to groceries, there has been a 60% increase in families seeking food assistance from the Atlanta Community Food Bank over the last three years. 820,000 people in the Food Bank's service area are food insecure.

"Food insecurity isn't just a lack of calories," said Greg Sims, Director of Institutional Giving at the Atlanta Community Food Bank. "That's part of it, but food carries so much meaning. It's what gathers communities together and carries on family traditions… it creates a sense of peace, well-being, and happiness. When we fight hunger, we build strong, healthy, joyful communities. And that's exactly what Big Green Egg does; they create huge celebrations by sharing meals and breaking bread together, which is a wonderful alignment with our model and mission."

Guests who can't attend EGGtoberfest in person can join the celebration by following Big Green Egg on social media on Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube.
