'Extreme Drought' Returns to Metro Atlanta for the First Time Since 2019

8.3 million Georgians are currently experiencing drought conditions. And for the first time since the start of November 2019, Level D3 'Extreme' drought is present in part of metro Atlanta.

Portions of Fulton, Clayton, Fayette, Coweta, Douglas, Henry, Spalding, Pike, and Meriwether counties are included in the D3 'Extreme Drought.'These areas are shown in red on the map below.
