Kabat Chapman & Ozmer LLP Expands with Two Associates in Atlanta Office

Kabat Chapman & Ozmer LLP (KCO) is pleased to announce the addition of associates Nikesh Amin and Adam Shepherd to the firm’s Atlanta office. Amin joins the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Labor and Employment practice groups, while Shepherd will assist across all practice areas.
Prior to joining KCO, Amin served as a term clerk for the Honorable Nancy G. Abudu in the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, as well as for the Honorable Joseph Dawson III in the U.S. District Court, District of South Carolina. He drafted orders, opinions and bench memoranda; conducted legal research; and prepared for oral arguments. Amin was also a legal extern for the Honorable J. Michelle Childs in the U.S. District Court, District of South Carolina, where he gained valuable experience researching state and federal case law and issues. Amin earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he served as a Research Editor on the South Carolina Law Review, was on the Dean’s Honor List all three years and earned the CALI Award for Excellence – Civil Procedure, the Joseph O. Rogers Bicentennial Fellowship Award and the Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award.
Shepherd joins the firm after working as a litigation associate at a national law firm, where he first-chaired evidentiary and dispositive motion hearings, served as lead attorney in commercial and tort matters, authored motions on behalf of Fortune 50 and 500 companies, and directed motion strategy in high-stakes litigation. He has handled matters involving business litigation, products liability, catastrophic tort and premises liability, healthcare law and commercial properties. Shepherd is admitted to practice in Georgia and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia. He earned his undergraduate degree from Palm Beach State College, magna cum laude, and his law degree with honors from Emory University School of Law.
