Tuesday, October 21st, 2025

Kroger’s Atlanta Division brought associates, partners and volunteers together on Thursday, October 16, for its Community Million Meal Pack – a massive hunger relief effort.

“We did it!” said Victor Smith, president of Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “Families facing food insecurity during these uncertain times will know our communities care and stand ready to help.”

In partnership with U.S. Hunger and the Kroger Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation, Kroger associates, community partners, and volunteers packed meals to help stock food banks across the Atlanta Division, which includes Georgia, South Carolina and East Alabama.

“Our communities always step up to help others in times of need. “We’re profoundly grateful for everyone’s commitment, dedication, and enthusiasm,” Smith said

Meals from the hunger relief event will go to food banks and hunger-relief partners, including:

  • Atlanta Community Food Bank

    • Food Bank of Northeast Georgia

    • Middle Georgia Community Food Bank

    • Food Bank of East Alabama

    • Golden Harvest Food Bank

    • MUST Ministries

    • Caring for Others

    • Hosea Helps

    • Grace Baptist Church

    • Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia

  • Partners in Education Food Pantries

“Food has the power to bring people together,” said Rick Whitted, CEO of U.S. Hunger. Through this collaboration, we’re not just packing meals — we’re sharing hope. Every meal is a reminder that no one is alone.”
