Atlanta-based racer and entrepreneur Ryan Hardwick has made history as the first Atlantan to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMGT3 Division, held June 14–15, 2025, in Le Mans, France. The event is widely regarded as the world’s most prestigious endurance car race, and the LMGT3 Division is the largest and most competitive class in the field. Hardwick’s victory also secured his personal GT Triple Crown, having previously won the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest active Bronze drivers in endurance racing.
Hardwick spent nearly eight hours behind the wheel, including a pivotal overnight stint, which was crucial to his team’s commanding win and helped move them into first place in the FIA Endurance Trophy standings. Driving the No. 92 Porsche 911 LMGT3 R alongside teammates Richard Lietz and Riccardo Pera, the trio combined to lead 184 of 341 laps, completing the final nine hours and 15 minutes of the race uninterrupted.
“Competing at Le Mans demands total focus, relentless drive and flawless teamwork — the same values that fuel Mountain Motorsports,” said Ryan Hardwick, co-founder of Mountain Motorsports. “From our earliest days my co-founder Justin Price and I carried lessons from racing into business. Just like on the track, success in powersports means pushing limits, trusting your team and never losing sight of the customer experience. Our goal has always been to help families create lasting outdoor memories and that competitive spirit continues to drive our growth.”
First held in 1923, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is considered the pinnacle of endurance racing, attracting the top manufacturers and drivers across two categories: Hypercar, the fastest and most technologically advanced prototypes, and LMGT3, which features production-based cars like the Porsche 911, Ferrari, and Corvette. Hardwick, competing in LMGT3, is one of only five Americans in the field.
Beyond racing, Hardwick has helped lead Mountain Motorsports from a single Honda dealership founded in 1999 into one of the largest powersports retailers in the country. Today, the company operates 12 dealerships across three states, representing 13 leading manufacturers and offering one of the broadest selections under one roof. Driven by a competitive philosophy rooted in racing, Mountain Motorsports is committed to delivering diverse choices, expert service and unforgettable outdoor experiences for families.
Hardwick and his team will look to defend their leading position in the FIA World Endurance Championship with two races remaining: the 6 Hours of Fuji in Japan on Sept. 28 and the 8 Hours of Bahrain on Nov. 8. Bahrain, the season finale, is widely regarded as one of the championship’s most challenging races and where Hardwick has the opportunity to not only be the first Atlantan to win the LMGT3 Division of Le Mans, but also one of the very few Americans to claim an FIA endurance title.
