Monday, April 13th, 2020

With schools closed for the rest of the academic year, HealthMPowers has unveiled a new virtual learning resource page created to support teachers and families with ideas and activities to keep kids
moving and healthy while learning at home.

Visitors can go to HealthMPowers.org/services/resources to access physical activity, nutrition and
handwashing resources that include videos, online lesson plans and activities that children and families can do at home.

“As we are faced with shifting priorities and a completely new way of supporting schools, child care centers and out of school settings across the state, our highest priority continues to be the health and well-being of the children and adults we serve,” said Christi Kay, President, HealthMPowers. “Our focus on eating fruits and vegetables, drinking lots of water, moving more and sitting, and washing is now more important than ever. To that end, we are providing ready-made quality virtual lesson plans and activities for teachers and parents to use with children of all ages. We’re also incredibly thankful to our partners at the Georgia Department of Public Health, the Georgia Department of Education and the Department of Early Care and Learning for promoting the site through their statewide networks.”
